Oris Williams Competition 2016 Terms and Conditions

Effective from 10:00am on Monday, 11th April 2016

1.       The Promoter

1.1     The promoter is: Oris S.A. of Ribigasse 1, CH-4434 Hölstein, Switzerland.


2.       The Competition

2.1     The competition comprises three elements:

  1. There will be one competition in respect of each Formula One World Championship race (“Race”) held between the date on which the Oris Williams Competition 2016 (“Competition”) is available and 28 November 2016 each being a “Race Competition”.  The prize for each Race Competition shall be a Williams Racing cap signed by one of the team’s drivers.
  2. There will be one prize draw before the summer break of the 2016 Formula One World Championship season, such draw being the “Mid Season Draw”, in which ONE winner will be drawn to receive: A Williams Racing car part, autographed by one of the team’s drivers.
  3. There will be one grand prize draw at the end of the 2016 Formula One World Championship season, such draw being the “End-Season Draw”, in which THREE winners will be drawn to receive the following prizes: (i) First prize = Oris Williams Chronograph watch; (ii) Second prize = Oris Power Bank; (iii) Third prize = Oris Fountain Pen.


2.2     Upon completing a Race Competition challenge, you will be given the opportunity to enter into the competition. If you enter, you will be entered into the Race Competition in respect of the next Race. If you submit more than one entry in respect of any particular Race Competition, only the last successful entry will be considered.  One winner will then be drawn from the correct entries of that Race Competition.

2.3     All correct entries in respect of each Race Competition will then be automatically entered into the respective Season Draws.  If you have submitted more than one time in respect of any particular Race Competition, only the last correct/successful entry will be considered for the Season Draws.  Only entries received between the China and Germany Race will be entered for the Mid Season Draw. All correct/successful entries received from the Competition will automatically qualify for the Season Draw. The Mid Season Draw will be held on Thursday 4th August 2016 and the End Season Draw will be held on Thursday, 1st December 2016, winners of which will be selected at random.  


3.       How to Enter

3.1     Each Race Competition will run from 10:00am on the Monday morning after the preceding Race ("Opening Date") to 10:00am on the Monday following the Race to which the Race Competition relates ("Closing Date").  The Closing Date for the Season Draw shall be the same as the Closing Date of the Abu Dhabi Race Competition. All times referred to in these terms and conditions refer to British Summer Time until 30th October 2016 and then to Greenwich Mean Time until the end of the competition.

3.2     All competition entries must be received by the Promoter via the electronic entry form by no later than 10.00am on the Closing Date.  All competition entries received after the Closing Date for the Race Competition in respect of Abu Dhabi shall be automatically disqualified.  Competition entries received prior to such date shall be entered into the Race Competition in respect of the Race for which a Race Competition is open at the time of receipt of the entry.

3.3     To enter a Race Competition and the Mid / End Season Draws, complete the registration form within the Game and press the “SUBMIT” button by the relevant Closing Date.

3.4     No purchase is necessary and there is no charge to submit your entry.

3.5     The Promoter will not accept:
(a)      responsibility for competition entries that are lost, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example: as a result of any postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or
(b)      liability whatsoever for any damage or loss of any kind (whether such losses are directly or indirectly) arising out of entrants’ participation in the competition or out of the winner’s enjoyment of the prize;
(c)      proof of posting or transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the competition.

3.6     By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.

3.7     Please see www.oriswilliamscompetition.com/terms for a copy of these competition terms and conditions if you wish to refer to them at another time.

3.8     The competition entries will be randomly selected and such selection shall be final.


4.       Eligibility

4.1     The competition is only open to all persons aged 18 years or over, except:
(a)      employees of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies (together, the “Promoter Group”);
(b)      employees of Williams Grand Prix Engineering Limited or its holding or subsidiary companies (together, the “Williams Group”)
(c)      employees of agents or suppliers of the Promoter Group or Williams Group, who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; or
(d)      members of the immediate families or households of (a), (b) and (c) above.

4.2     In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win.  The Promoter may require you to provide proof of your eligibility.

4.3     The Promoter will not accept competition entries that are incomplete.

4.4     You may submit as many times as you wish for each Race Competition, but only the latest successful entry by your device will be considered for that Race Competition and be entered from that Race Competition into the Season Draws. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.

4.5     The Promoter reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition.

4.6     Competition entries cannot be withdrawn after they have been submitted.


5.       The Prize

5.1     The prizes for each element of the competition are as set out in clause 2.1.

5.2     There is no cash alternative for the prize The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with a prize of equal or greater value. The prize is not negotiable or transferable.

5.3     If you are drawn as the winner in any element of the competition, the Promoter will contact you by email to inform you that you have won.  In order to claim the prize you must reply to the Promoter, within 5 working days, with your postal address and telephone number to enable the Promoter to send you the relevant prize.


6.       Winner Announcement

6.1     The winner of each Race Competition can be viewed in the previous winners section of the competition page (at www.oriswilliamscompetition.com) on the day following the Closing Date of the relevant Race Competition. The winner of the Mid-Season and End-Season Draw will be announced on the competition page and via the Promoter’s social media channels, from Friday 5th August 2016 and Friday, 2nd December 2016 respectively. (“Announcement Date”).  You consent to your details being used in this manner in the event that you are a winner.

6.2     The decision of the Promoter is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
6.3     The Promoter will contact the winner personally as soon as possible before the Announcement Date, using the email address provided with the competition entry. Their name will be displayed on the competition webpage (www.oriswilliamscompetition.com), as well as announced on the Oris and Williams Social Media Pages.

6.4     The winner may be required to take part in publicity, i.e. during prize giving ceremony.


7.       Claiming the Prize

7.1     Please allow 60 days for delivery of a prize.  The Promoter will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner, but if the winner cannot be contacted, is not available or is unable to respond within 5 working days from the initial contact, the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the entries that were received before the relevant Closing Date.

7.2     The winners may be required to submit valid identification before receiving the prize.

7.3     The Promoter does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.


8.       Limitation of Liability

Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up a prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.


9.       Ownership of Competition Entries and Intellectual Property Rights

9.1     All competition entries and any accompanying material submitted to the Promoter will become the property of the Promoter on receipt and will not be returned.

9.2     You agree that the Promoter may but is not required to, make your entry available on its website www.oris.ch and any other media, whether now known or invented in the future and in connection with any publicity of the competition. You agree to grant the Promoter a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence, for the full period of any intellectual property rights in the competition entry, to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format and sub-licence the competition entry for such purposes.


10.     Data Protection and Publicity

10.1   If you are the winner of a Race Competition or the Season Draw, you agree that the Promoter may use your name, image and town or country of residence to announce you as the winner if it chooses to do so and for any other reasonable and related promotional purposes.  You further agree to participate in any reasonable publicity required by the Promoter.

10.2   By entering the competition, you agree that any personal information provided by you with the competition entry may be held and used only by the Promoter or its agents and suppliers to administer the competition.

11.     General

11.1   If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.

11.2   The Promoter reserves the right at any time to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend this prize competition or supersede (including altering the prize) where it becomes necessary to do so.

11.3   These terms and conditions shall be governed by Swiss law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hölstein, Kanton Basellandschaft, Switzerland.
